Condolence: Mrs. Showalter was such a lovely woman, and I have such fond memories of her.
She and her husband, Don, were such involved and caring parents…something that was obvious to me even at the age of 13 when I met them.
It was no accident that their children turned out so well. Mr. and Mrs. Showalter were both good people and wonderful parents.
There was so much chaos in my home during my HS years, and I always found it very comforting to spend time at their house. They were so warm and welcoming. It was truly a safe haven for me.
My idea of what a family should be was greatly influenced by those times…
