Joe was my father's brother. Over the years, he made periodic visits to our farm, as he travelled about visiting the relatives. And even when Dad got down with cancer and became homebound, Joe was there. I always enjoyed his stories of old times, as well as tales of his recent travels to CA and Alaska in his VW Bug. Coincidentally, "Bug" was Joe's nickname, which he earned when he was a small boy, killing the bugs that infested his family's vegetable garden. He was a man of a thousand stories, and he will be missed by many.
