Obituary for John "Jack" Batcheldor

BATCHELDOR, JOHN F. "JACK," 84, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012.
He was a Navy World War II veteran, and an Army Korean War veteran. He worked for forty years at Louisville Lumber and Millwork Co. His handiwork is anonymously displayed at public and private locations throughout the region. Such is the fate of the carpenter, cabinet maker, and architectural millworker. His art is unsigned. Look around next time you see something that is made right and made of wood, it could be some of Jack's "better work." He was a charter member of Ascension Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion, Highland Post 201.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carole; son, Bob Batcheldor (Maureen); grandson, Sam; brother, Fr. Joseph Batcheldor; and sister, Elizabeth Stuedle.
His funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Ascension Catholic Church, 4600 Lynbrook Dr. with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus or the American Cancer Society.
