SCHMETZER, NORMAN R., 84, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012.
He was a member of Southeast Christian Church and was retired from Brown Forman Distillery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Schmetzer and Marie Schmetzer Pouliot and brother, Ronald Pouliot.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellert Schmetzer; son, Paul (Kim); daughters, Jean Hornback (Dennis), Barbara Smith (Brent); grandchildren, Laura Hornback, Nicholas and Rachael Schmetzer, Maggie and Daniel Smith; sisters, Rose Marie Filburn, JoAnne Crawford and Doris Mooney; and brother-in-law, Bernard Ellert (Sue).
Visitation will be Sunday, July 8, 2012, 2-7 p.m. at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Heart Association , Cancer Society or Hosparus.
