Uncle Bobby and Aunt Dorothy were my Godparents. Due to distance away in different states for many years I didn't see them as much as I wanted to either in Ky or Ohio but our times together were very special to me. They were very open, honest and kind to me, very down to earth people. I had visits with them together and individually. What I loved was that they were the same people with me together or separately. On many occasions when living in Ky, Bobby would come by to visit with the family. ME and my Dad would end up sitting out on the deck with him and talk about anything and everything. Yes I recall his love for the outdoors, many sports, and Horse Racing. He actually knew a lot about everything in that business, and he always had a knack for good picks to bet on. Many occasions I would just sit and listen to Bobby and my Dad Charlie both telling stories and laughing out loud. Bobby was smart and had a great sense of humor. He also had a Deep pride and Love for his family, Wife and children particularly. He was honest and man enough to share thoughts of his Love for Family, His Mistakes and Regrets, Hopes and Wishes. He was very Proud, not as much of his own accomplishments in life but those of his wife, children and extended family.
I enjoyed and appreciated my times with you Uncle Bobby: And may you rest in peace. Your Godson,
Mike Mitchell
