Patricia van Essche (Thieneman)

The outpouring of love from family and friends was a true testament to my Father. His kindness to all he met was incredible. As one of his children and daughters, it was wonderful to gather and hear stories of how my Dad, "Paul" - One of the first visitors to the Highlands Funeral Home was one of my Fathers dear and best friends, "Tommy" who could not wait to pay his respects. He made us laugh, the way he made our Dad laugh and reminded us of how "fun" he was and all the good times they had. Although I have not lived in Kentucky for years, I love knowing that I can go back at any time and feel that everything he worked hard for lives on. He certainly did not have an easy life but he never gave up and always made everyone feel special. He always told me that give and that, "Christmas" should be more than one day a year. I thank my sisters, my brothers and all the family and friends that came to show their love for my Dad and my Mom. I thank all those who have been dedicated to "Paul's Fruit and Vegetable Markets" and to everyone who was kind to my Dad. To my Dad's sisters and my Aunts, I love you and think of you, our family and all those that shall miss him. I would like to ask of each of you to please continue to visit my Mother at Episcopal Nursing Home and share stories of the "fun" times had and to come. Love to all who loved my Dad and who cared for him. Thank-you to Liz who has certainly commandeered the ship and to each of my sisters, Mary Hartman, Sally Thieneman and brothers, Paul Thieneman Jr., Phil Thieneman, Doug Thieneman and to all the extended, David Hartman, John Teasley and JC van Essche. Let's all join hands often and share stories of our dear Father.
